The holidays are now behind us and our focus will now be getting winter over with and setting up our bass and crappie fishing trips. Lake Fork is the place to do both and if you never have been here you will love it when you get here. We have some outstanding bass and crappie fishing and ranks towards the top in the state and nation. I have customers come from all over the nation to check out the bass and crappie fishing on Lake Fork. The crappie bite is now moved to the deeper water being 30-45 feet. We have finally had some winter temperatures which has the lake cooler than its been in the last several years. When I was out yesterday surface temperature was 48 on the lower end of the lake. I caught crappie in 33 feet of water on a dark blue jig with sparkles in it. Bite was slow but caught a few. Mixed in were sand bass and yellow bass. The good thing about fishing with me on Lake Fork is that I furnish everything for your trip. That goes for bass and crappie fishing so you do not have to bring anything except maybe a snack or your favorite drink. If we are crappie fishing also an ice chest to carry you fish home in. Bass fishing is slow right now as they are suspended around the deeper creek channels and not feeding much because of the water temps. My favorite bait this time of year is a black/blue jig with a #11 black pork trailer. For some reason bass love pork when the water temperature gets into the 40’s. I work it very slow and just crawl it along. When I bump a log and come over it I like to leave it sit and you will feel that one thump. You will not get a lot of bites this time of the year but the ones you get will be good ones!! So give me a call and lets set up your bass and crappie fishing trip.
