Lake Fork crappie and bass fishing with Doug Shampine DSP Guide Service
December is a great month for crappie and bass fishing on Lake Fork! Crappie are still fairly shallow due to still warmer weather and so are the bass. I am catching good sized crappie in 18-24 feet of water in my brush piles. By the way you can go to the youtube channel and see by checking out Doug Shampine channel on how I put out my brush piles. You can see how to build one and use that on your lakes as it works all over. I am using a chartreuse pepper and a pink/green jig along with minnows. I furnish all this for your trip including the rod and reels so you wont need to bring your own or buy something to fish with. I am now booking all crappie and bass fishing trips for 2018 so get your date set up soon so you can get the prime date in the spring. They are shallow and biting on several things. One being a 1/4 oz black/blue jig and a baby brush hog trailer in green pumpkin. Another thing is a small spinner bait in purple/blue and white with small chrome blades. Also a watermelon red 4 inch finesse worm with a 1/8 oz weight and I am fishing in 5 feet or less of water where there is vegetation.
