Crappie and Bass fishing on Lake Fork 12-16-2020

Crappie and bass fishing on Lake Fork is usually good in December, as the water temperature has not gotten real cold. As of today the north end of the lake is 51 degrees and the lower end of the lake is 55 degrees. Lake Level is still about 2 feet below normal. So the lake is in pretty good shape going into the winter, so now is the time to be going crappie and bass fishing on Lake Fork. Now as for the crappie, I am finding them at 22-30 ft on secondary points where you find standing timber. After the cold front comes through the crappie will be on the bottom. I am fishing with jigs and minnows and when I drop them down I am only coming up one crank of my reel. Bite has been light aster a front. Best color of jig has been chartreuse on a 1/8 oz jig head. The other color that is working is pink/chartreuse. But the catch has been good with several over 2 lbs. I am fishing out of a 22 ft center console bay boat and can take 5 adults on a crappie trip and 3 on a bass trip. I furnish everything for your trip, so just come get into the boat and go fishing. I like fishing the deeper boat ramps as they hold just a little more heat than the lake temperature and the bass will hang out at the end of the ramp. Also a suspending crank bait with a orange belly red sides and dark top will catch bass in 5-9 foot range and make sure you stop cranking several times and let the bait sit still.
