Thinking about doing a bass fishing trip? February is the time to come fishing on Fork for that one big bite!! Consider using DSP Guide Service, one of the full time Lake Fork bass guides for your trip. I have been guiding on Lake Fork  for 15 years. I furnish everything for your trip, so just come get in my boat and lets go fishing. Big bass are starting to be active between cold fronts.

Lake level is 6.6 feet below normal and all the public ramps are usable and surface temperature is 46 degrees. Other good ramps are Popes and Little Mustang.  Several spring pattern are working right now and you might want to give them a try if you are headed to the lake. Suspending jerk baits, black/blue jigs, 3/4 oz spinner baits, and A rigs are working. You won’t catch numbers on your February bass fishing trip but you will catch quality.

Lake Fork bass fishing can be weather driven this time of year, so bring your cold weather gear. Keep in mind that the current state record was caught in February. The best places to look for those big bass will be main lake points and creek channels especially where a creek swings into a main lake point. Also find the grass, which is very limited this year so far. The north end of the lake will warm up faster than the lower end, but the north end may be stained (which I really like) So if you are considering a fishing trip, using one of the full time Lake Fork bass guides, please give my guide service a try. Enjoy a day on the water and lets see if you can catch your trophy bass. I will try to update the fishing report every week.
