Another nice crappie!! Try some bass and crappie fishing with me!!

Another nice crappie!! Try some bass and crappie fishing with me!!

Finally cooler weather bass and crappie fishing on Lake Fork, I am ready for this!! Water temperature when we started this morning was 79.6 and with this cool front I expect it will drop more the next couple of nights. Bass fishing has been tough the last couple of months as the fisherman of the Big Bass Splash found out with only 11 or 12 over the slot bass weighed in with the biggest in the 9 lb range,  this past weekend the Triton owners tournament was won with 5 bass weighing 8.8 pounds. Next coming in a couple weekends will be the Berkley tournament.

I have been catching bass early on spooks in shallow water close to deep water. Than I am moving up to the north end of the lake where the new grass is growing and throwing small spinner baits, and a finesse worm with a very light weight. Catching bass in 5 ft or less of water. So what are you waiting for? Time to think about getting your bass and crappie fishing trips set up for the fall or spring 2016. Dates go fast so give that some thought. Crappie bite has been very good and am catching them in 24-26 ft of water over and around my brush piles. The jig bite is finally starting to work using a blue ice colored jig. But the minnows are still catching the biggest crappie. Now is the time to take home a good mess of crappie and it will stay good through November or early December.

This time of year the bass and crappie fishing does nothing but get better as we get closer to the end of the year. Text me at 940-902-3855 or email doug@lakeforktrophybass.com for open fall or spring 2016 dates. With the amount of smaller bass and crappie we are catching the next couple of years of fishing on Fork should be outstanding.
