Bass and crappie fishing Lake Fork is now changing as we move into mid December. The water temperature on the lower end of the lake is 56 and the north end of the lake is 53. The crappie has now moved into the winter pattern for the most part. There are still s few shallow fish, shallow being 19-22 ft but most of the fish I found yesterday were at the 24 ft break line or the 28 ft break line. Good electronics will help identify the break lines and the brush piles related to the break lines. I was using a 1/8 oz jig head bigger for the deeper water fishing. I normally use a 1/16 but it takes a while to sink into 30 ft of water. Also a chartreuse Gene Larue body on my jig head. I like bass and crappie fishing Lake Fork this time of the year because when you find the crappie especially they don’t move much during the winter months. So time to book your winter trip by calling or texting 940-902-3855 for open dates. Traveling for Christmas stop by Lake Fork and fish for a day! Now for the bass. I found them also moving into the winter pattern which means black and blue jig fishing! If you like jig fishing now is the time to find any deeper boat ramp and throw a jig around it. the heat of the ramp will hold the bass at the bottom of the ramp because its a little warmer than the water. So boat ramps or any place you find rock in the water you will find the bass also. Retaining walls are also good places to look. The other bait I like this time of the year is a suspending crankbait that swims 6-8 ft and I fish it same places I fish the jig. Best color orange belly red sides and dark top. Now booking spring bass fishing trips so call or text 940-902-3855 for winter or spring dates. Or email doug@lakeforktrophybass.com if you have questions about a trip. I furnish everything just come get in my boat and go fishing. #lakeforktrophybass #lakeforkcrappiefishingguides #lakeforkguides #lakeforkbassfishingguides #lakeforkfishingguides #lakeforkcrappieguide #lakefork
