Happy New Year from Doug Shampine DSP Guide Service Lake Fork Tx. Bass and crappie fishing is slow right now due to a lot of new water in the lake and the flood gates are open. Lake temperature is in the upper 40’s and the water is stained on the upper half of the lake. But now is the time to get your spring trip booked as the pre spawn will be starting by the end of February. I will be attending the Dallas boat show starting the first weekend of February and by the end of the show most of the good dates will be already taken. And the weekends book up first. Call or text me 940-902-3855 for open dates or doug@lakeforktrophybass.com for dates or information about bass and crappie fishing on Lake Fork. As for the crappie fishing we are in the winter pattern which means deeper water fishing. Look at the mouth of Little Caney on the deeper flats or along the damn area in 28-35 feet of water. Minnows are working as well as a pink/chartreuse jig. If there is a strong north wind it will be hard to fish the damn area so keep an eye on the weather. As for the bass, I look for the areas of rip rap that are exposed to the sun most of the day. The bass will be there in 10-20 foot where you find shad. I am using a black/blue jig with a #11 black pork trailer. I always use pork when the water temperature gets below 50 degrees. Set the hook on any thing you think is a bite because it is very light right now. I furnish everything for your trip and can handle 3 adults bass fishing and 4 adults crappie fishing. So bring nothing for your trip just get in my boat and go fishing. I have been guiding on Lake Fork for 18 years so give me a call. #lakeforkbassfishingguides #lakeforkfishingguides #lakeforkguides #lakeforkcrappiefishingguides #lakeforkcrappieguides #lakeforkbassandcrappiefishing #lakefork #lakeforkfishing #lakeforktrophybass
