Well 2022 Lake Fork Fishing will be a little different to start with. The normal lake level is 3 ft below normal and the SRA is dropping the lake another 3 ft to work on the damn. So the lake level early January will be 6 foot below normal. So a lot of the smaller ramps will be out of the water so check out the public ramps. They will be ok. Lake Fork fishing was good the last time the lake was this low so I expect so big bass to be caught early this year. I really like the black/blur jig worked along the bigger creek channels with the target being the bigger stumps or trees. I also like a crawfish red crank bait one the suspends for cranking the wood. Work the baits slow and the crankbait stop several times and hang on. The bite normally comes when the bait is stopped. Lake Fork fishing can be tough in January but what you catch will be good ones! As for the crappie, go to the deeper water and look for bait fish and you will find the crappie and sandbass. I like using minnows and jigs and my best colors for a jig will be chartreuse or pink and chartreuse on a 1/8 oz jig head. Check out the deeper flats at the mouth of Little Caney or the deeper water around the damn area. Just look for all the boats and you will see where the crappie are stacking up at.
