Finally we are getting the winter behind us and will see better to good Lake Fork bass fishing and it will depend how early our weather starts to warm up. The lake level is about 2 feet below normal and water temperatures are in the mid 40’s. What we need is warm nights and the lake will respond with warmer temperatures and the Lake Fork bass fishing will get more active. Today I am catching bass on a couple different things in 5-10 feet of water. Red or red/orange KVD trap 1/2 oz is working along areas where you find vegetation. A white chatter bait around stumps along the creeks and a 1/2 oz black/blue jig with a #11 black pork chunk is working also along the creek channels. I am finding bass as you start into the pockets around main lake points. As the water warms they will move to the first secondary points about mid month. by the end of the month they will be on the deeper flats close to the spawning areas in that 5-8 foot range. If the nights stay cold this process will slow down so you must become a weather watcher this month so see what the bass are or will be doing. The Dallas boat show starts again Thurs afternoon and runs through Sunday and I will be booking trips at the show. So if you are in the area stop by and lets get your Lake Fork bass fishing trip set up. The crappie are also started moving toward the upper end of the lake and will be looking to move into the main lake points in February also. If you don’t know it I furnish everything for your trip weather it a Lake Fork bass fishing trip or crappie trip. Just come get in my boat and go fishing!
