Planning on bass and crappie fishing on Lake Fork this spring? Here is the latest report as of 02-24-20 for bass and crappie fishing. If you sent me an email from my web site I did not get it as that feature is not working. Just go to your email and send me one to doug@lakeforktrophybass.com and I will get it as I always answer emails. Lake conditions are lower end of the lake good north end above 515 bridges heavy stained. Water temperature 50-53 and with a cold night mid week this week probably will stay in that range. Lake level a inch or 2 below normal. Bass are starting to move into the pockets and coves to feed before thinking about spawn. If you are fishing a tournament this coming weekend you can catch unders several ways. Target secondary points using light Carolina rig with baby brush hog, green pumpkin, split shot rig using the same, or watermelon candy red fluke and target the 1-6 foot range and most of the fish are coming about 3 feet. If looking for the bigger bite go with black/ blue or green pumpkin jig and trailer to match or suspending jerk bait on main lake points. I am fishing the mid lake areas and staying away form the muddy water for a few days. As for the crappie they are moving and I found some showing up on the 514, 2946 and 515 east bridges. That means they are headed towards shallow water feeding up as they go. I like to use jigs but minnows will catch a lot of fish as they are feeding. Best color jig has been chartreuse black or chartreuse on 1/8 head. There are still a few in the deeper water so check out your brush piles and they will come and go from them. Also try a blue jig and dip the tail in spike it chartreuse and see what it will produce.
